Daytona Beach Prepares for Halifax Arts Festival

Halifax Arts Festival

Tens of thousands of visitors will pour into the city this November for art festival in Daytona Beach.

Now in its 53rd year, the Halifax Arts Festival at Historic Downtown Riverfront Park is an institution among the Daytona Beach community. As the second oldest continual art festival in the state, Halifax draws on a rich history of tradition. Over 230 artists and artisans come from around the country to show off their wares to participate in the event November 7th and 8th, 2015. Participants will be doing more than just promoting their works of art to curious onlookers. A number of awards will be judged and presented by a committee, including a Best in Show and Awards of Distinction. One lucky participant will have their work purchased by the Guild of the Museum of Arts and Sciences, which is the event's main sponsor.

This art festival in Daytona Beach provides more than just displays from local artists. The festival celebrates everything fun and fascinating about art and features a number of events designed for people of all interests and ages. The antiques and collectibles market allows guests to browse through a wide selection of vintage arts and crafts to bring home a treasure of historical importance. Kids can show off their own art skills at the Children's Art Zone, and the Little Van Gogh Art Studio provides them with an environment where they can learn more about art appreciation by creating. Putt-putt in the park provides a fun break from the stalls and exhibits. Additionally, admission to the Halifax Historical Museum will be free for the extent of the festival.

The Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort is proud to be part of such an artistically vibrant community, and we hope you choose to spend your visit with us. Visit us online to learn more about our rates and amenities.

Ocean Center Events in Daytona Beach

There will be plenty of things to do in Daytona Beach to help close out August

The city of Daytona Beach is a delight to visit 12 months out of the year, but in August there's even more reason to make the trip with all of the events set to take place at the renovated Ocean Center. That renovation has turned the venue into a world-class facility that's been expanded in capacity by more than twice its previous size. The greater presence allows them to host a number of exciting events, major local gatherings and national conventions that help put the facility to use for almost 300 days in a calendar year.

During the final 10 days of August, upcoming events at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach will feature a trio of gatherings that are expected to draw big crowds. The first two events at the Ocean Center will be the National Reptile Breeders Expo on August 22-23, followed by the Volusia County Home and Garden Show set for August 28-30.

On the night of August 30, professional wrestling will take center stage as WWE Live comes to town. This brand of entertainment has a wide range when it comes to the ages of its fans, but it should offer a wild cap to a busy weekend.

Those coming from out of town for these events will be glad to hear that getting to and from your appointed destination is easy since the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort is directly across the street from Ocean Center. You might want to unwind in the days before or after these events by taking in the beach steps from our door.  You can also explore the exciting entertainment district that's also within walking distance.
